Survivor Centered, Whole Family Approaches to Safety and Healing

This webinar will spotlight the history and evolution over the last three decades of Caminar Latino’s holistic family services in Atlanta, Georgia.  The foundation of Caminar Latino’s model continues to be rooted in the essential act of listening to survivor parents in order to understand their realities, learn their priorities and support their family strengths.

Directed by survivors’ articulated needs and goals, Caminar Latino offers supportive and innovative programming for children and youth exposed to violence as well as violence intervention classes for parents who use violence. We’ll highlight the work and resources available through the National Center to Advance Peace for Children, Youth, and Families (NCAP), the federally funded resource center on child protection and custody, housed at Caminar Latino, and hear from a key NCAP Partner, Futures Without Violence, on the importance of engaging parents who use violence in our advocacy.

Speakers will share considerations and tools for complex conversations around parenting and caregiving that center child well-being with the goal of motivating parents and supporting survivors as they consider and navigate safer pathways for their families.
